The Saudi Geological Survey revealed a group of natural caves, which are expected to join tourist paths soon, in cooperation with the General Authority for Tourism and National Heritage.
15 caves will be listed as tourist destinations
The spokesman for the Geological Survey Authority, Tariq Aba Al-Khail, stated that the authority intends to prepare many caves as a first stage to be paths and sites for tourist attraction within the framework of activating environmental tourism in cooperation with the General Authority for Tourism and National Heritage.
Some of the caves are more than 30 million years old, and specialists from the geological area revealed that these caves after the completion of detailed studies work to know the extent of their qualification to be suitable for geological tourism, stressing that the Kingdom is witnessing a growth in environmental and geological tourism with the discovery of more than 250 caves, in addition to the presence of Thousands of other undiscovered caves that contribute to the growth of the geological and environmental tourism in the Kingdom, calling on all to preserve these natural resources that the Kingdom abounds in.
