The Islamic Arts Museum was opened in late 1998 in the city of Kuala Lumpur, and is considered one of the most famous tourist places in Malaysia
The museum is located in the heart of the city’s tourist belt that includes the Perdana Botanical Gardens, the famous National Mosque, the Bird Park, and the National Planetarium.
The Museum of Islamic Arts is the largest of its kind in Southeast Asia and includes more than 7,000 artifacts from the Islamic world.
The museum offers 12 major exhibitions, classified according to the types of artifacts it contains, including Islamic manuscripts and copies of the Holy Qur’an.
The museum also includes halls for other exhibitions such as the India Gallery, the Chinese Gallery, the Malay Gallery, the Ottoman Hall, and the galleries of jewelry and textiles, among others.

Activities you can do
• First, wander around the museum building and take some pictures of its many decorations and domes showing the blending of Islamic arts with ancient Arabesque art.
• Then start your visit with the museum’s many halls and galleries, some of which are specialized in Islamic and Ottoman architecture, as well as the Hall of Indian and Chinese Arts.
• You can also visit the Islamic Manuscripts Hall, which includes many Qur’anic documents and copies, some of which date back to the ninth century AD, and the most prominent museum exhibitions are the Malay Hall, which includes pieces some of which are more than 500 years old, and that deserve the lens of your cameras.
• You must visit the exciting Islamic jewelry hall, which includes medieval pieces, between necklaces, crowns, medals, etc.
• Then you can walk between the textile and old weapons hall, the gallery of ceramics and metal tools, and the halls dedicated to the ancient Islamic coins, and others.
