Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden was opened in the Mai Rim district of Chiang Mai in 1992.
The park is one of the most important tourist places in Thailand and is the first botanical garden in line with international standards in the country.
The park includes an immense blend of natural beauty and coordinated greenhouses displaying a valuable collection of rare and endangered plant species.
Activities you can do
• You and your family can wander around the park to learn about its features and nature, which includes many types of trees and various rare plant life.
• The park includes a bridge that crosses the dry dipterocarp forests, pine forests and three water currents, where you can take many panoramic pictures of the place.
• The park also includes many paths surrounded by art sculptures, and several vast green areas where you can enjoy a family picnic in the nature.
• You must visit the barren greenhouse, where you can take some pictures of the rarest types of dry desert plants of all kinds and shapes.
• The garden also includes other greenhouses of tropical plants, and the types of orchids, and rare medicinal herbs, the most prominent of which includes lily and water lotus.
Don’t forget to pass through the White Flower Garden located near greenhouses, which includes more than 200 species of white flowering plants.
The fern grove is one of the park’s most visited sites. You can also visit the distinctive red flower tunnel in the shadows appropriate to take some memorial photos.
