The Tokyo National Museum was established in 1872, and it is considered one of the most important tourist attractions in Japan. It is the oldest and largest national museum in the country
The museum’s goals are to collect, display and maintain a comprehensive collection of artwork and artifacts in Asia in general, and Japan in particular.
The museum contains more than 110,000 pieces, 87 of which are from the nation’s National Treasures collection, and 610 pieces that are important cultural property of Japan.
The museum is located inside Ino Park in the Taito area in Tokyo and consists of several facilities, including the Japanese, Asian and other exhibitions.
