In the pursuit of using digital payment methods, there is no longer a need to carry a lot of cash to use transportation in Dubai as the Roads and Transport Authority provides one of the smartest electronic payment solutions, Nol e-cards.
These are smart cards used to pay the metro tariff and all means of transportation affiliated to the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority, which are the metro, tram, bus, taxi, water bus, ferry, water taxi and ferry in addition to paid parking.
Nol cards can be issued and shipped easily with ticket offices in all Dubai metro stations, the authority’s customer service centers, sales agents or automatically via electronic devices designated for this in metro stations.

Note: The Nol Red Card is a paper ticket used for only one mode of transportation, that is, if it is extracted for metro rides it cannot be used for bus rides and so on.

Dubai metro connects most of the emirate’s regions with each other through two lines:
Red line : It opened in 2009, extending for more than 52 km between the Rashidiya and Jebel Ali areas, and includes 29 stations, including Terminal 1 terminal and Terminal 3 terminal at Dubai International Airport.
