The State of Kuwait is considered one of the countries of the Middle East, as it is located in the southwestern part of the Asian continent, specifically in the northwestern part of the Arabian Gulf, surrounded by the northwestern part of Iraq, and on the southern side by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, surrounded by the Arabian Gulf on the eastern side, The total area of ​​it is about 17818 km², while its population according to statistics in 2014 is approximately four million, and its origin is due to the miniaturization of the word Kut, which means fort and castle, as it was built in the seventeenth century AD near the coast.

There are many islands in the State of Kuwait that differ among them in terms of area, strategic location and characteristics, where there are ten islands in Kuwait, and eight of them are in the capital, in addition to Boubyan and Rabba, which are located in Jahra Governorate, and we will talk about some of these islands as follows :

  • Boubyan Island: It is located near the northeastern side of Kuwait in the far northwest of the Arabian Gulf, and is surrounded by the western side of the Abd Allah Creek, to the east by the Khor Al-Sabya, and from the north side and Rabba. Boubyan Island is the largest island in Kuwait and the second largest Arabian Gulf island after Qeshm Island, where It covers an area of ​​about 890 km2, covering approximately 5% of the total area of ​​the State of Kuwait, and the reserves cover most of the island’s land.
  • Failaka Island: It is located in the northwestern part of the Arabian Gulf, 20 km from the coast of Kuwait City, and it is the only island inhabited by Kuwaitis, and it has occupied an important center; it was an important commercial station on the sea route between the civilizations of the Arabian Gulf and the civilizations of Mesopotamia, as well as it was It has a distinguished religious position in the past, as this island was a pioneer in establishing the first cultural center in the Arab Gulf region.
  • Warba Island: It is located in the northern part of the State of Kuwait on one kilo of the Iraqi coast, and it was called this name in relation to its shape, and it is distinguished by its sandy soil and its muddy coasts, and it contains many mounds covering the tidal waters, and this island is considered as a natural reserve for birds, it is home to seagulls It is found on bodies of water throughout the year, and it is one of the most important aquatic animals in which the bushelmbo animal abounds.
