The Khuzam Palace is one of the important palaces in the western region of Saudi Arabia, specifically the governorate of Jeddah, as it was one of the palaces of the founding king Abdulaziz bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud, may God have mercy on him, and the palace is the first building in Saudi Arabia to use cement and iron, and the palace is currently hosting the Jeddah Regional Museum.

Khuzam Palace

The beginning of the construction of the Khuzam Palace dates back to the year 1928, and it took five years to complete its construction in 1932, and it was called the Khuzam Palace because of the large presence of the lavender plant in the area on which it was built, and the palace was the seat of King Abdul Aziz bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud, may God have mercy on him, and in the year 1981 directed King Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God have mercy on him, turned the palace into a museum, after he transferred his administration to the Antiquities and Museums Agency of the Ministry of Education, where the agency restored part of the introduction to the palace, and opened in March 1995, and is now under the supervision of the Tourism and National Heritage Authority. The heart of the historic Khuzam district of Jeddah is awaiting a major project to develop T region completely under the management of Jeddah Development and Urban Development.

Khuzam Palace Museum

The museum contains galleries that contain a Qur’anic verse explaining the relationship of religion to archaeological studies, pictures of the Two Holy Mosques after the great expansion, and a painting on the network of museums in the Kingdom, in addition to a traditional boat that explains the importance of marine wealth in the lives of Jeddah residents, and the pre-Islamic hall, starting from Stone ages until the pre-Islamic era, in which a collection of stone tools, pottery pieces, paintings of inscriptions and rock inscriptions are displayed, in addition to texts and pictures that tell about pre-Islamic periods.

The Islamic Hall displays the beginning of the migration of the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, to Medina and the era of the Rightly Guided Caliphs and successive Islamic periods, in addition to displaying a group of different artifacts and paintings that include texts, pictures and plans dating back to this period, and the Hall of Unification of the Kingdom that talks about the beginning of the first Saudi state to our time The present, by displaying paintings and pictures of the periods of the Saudi state in addition to showing films that include a selection of heritage pieces for the Kingdom, the King Abdulaziz Hall and the King Saud Hall, which includes some of their private holdings and historical photographs about their lives, and the Jeddah Hall That contains exhibits on the city of Jeddah, and its development through pictures and old maps of the city.
