Myndos Gate is located near Gumbet Street, west of Bodrum, and is a tourist attraction in historical Turkey
The gate is the only one left of the gates and the ancient city wall, which was approximately 7 km in length to protect the city of Halicarnassus.
The wall was built in the 4th century BC and the height of its original towers is unknown, but it was built from the Andesite stone blocks.
In front of the double gate, some of the remains of a trench are located, and according to the accounts, Alexander the Great’s soldiers drowned in 334 BC.
