The Margaret Island in Budapest is the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city center with its vast green areas, flowering gardens, and perennial trees, an island that is 2.5 km long and 500 meters wide in the center of the Danube.

Activities you can do
• You can enjoy a walking tour or ride of bus number 26, which runs along the island. You can also rent a bike from several rental offices located at the end of Margaret Bridge.
• You can ascend the Water Tower on Margaret Island, which was built in the style of nouveau art in 1911, and provides water for islanders including restaurants and hotels, and is used as a venue for art galleries and photography.
As well as being the location of the Budapest Summer Festival, it gives you great views of the island, Budapest and the Buda region.
• You can also visit the stunning flower garden located opposite the Platinos Baths, which is a great place especially in late spring when the flowers are open.
On the northern end of the island are Japanese gardens that include a fish pond, a rock garden, dwarf trees and artificial waterfalls.
• The Musical Fountain is located near the southern end of the island, and it is beautifully lit at night. You can enjoy some music dancing on its melodies.
