The Kuwait National Museum was inaugurated in 1986, and is located along the coasts of the Mubarakiya District in the capital of the State of Kuwait.
The museum building has been divided into four buildings, three of which are used for permanent museum exhibits and the fourth for administrative office and conference hall uses.
The collection displayed in the museum shows visitors the richness of Kuwait’s history and its deep roots, along with a large artistic and historical collection of the ruling Al-Sabah family.
The museum hosts a group of sailboats, artifacts representing the history of the country, and some archaeological excavations discovered on Failaka Island.
The museum’s four buildings are connected to each other, allowing visitors, inside and outside the country, to have a general and comprehensive idea of its contents.
