The best tourist places in Azerbaijan

There are many places in European Azerbaijan that attract thousands of tourists, and the best places and tourist cities are:

  • Baku: It is the official capital of Azerbaijan, as it is distinguished by its proximity to the Caspian Sea, and its fullness of tourist hotels, and the presence of many tourist attractions in it, such as museums, Heydar Aliyev Center, and the most famous skyscrapers: flame towers, mega shopping centers, and others.
  • Qabala: Qabala is approximately two hundred and twenty-five kilometers away from the capital Baku, knowing that it has continued as the capital of Albania for a period of six hundred years. Therefore, it is home to many historical places, important archaeological buildings, and it is characterized by the beauty of nature in it, such as Russian forests, chestnut forests, and many Rivers, villages of beautiful nature, and others.
  • Complainant: Where the most characteristic of the city is its streets, which tourists come to roam in, and enjoy the historicity of the city.
  • Ganga: It is among the major cities in Azerbaijan, where it is distinguished by its nature that includes forests, mineral springs, and the Guigol Reserve, as well as its cultural heritage represented by the mausoleum of the poet Nizami Gangavi, which reaches a height of twenty meters, in addition to the presence of a museum, a theater bearing the name Nizami Gangavi, and local museums with antiques of nearly 30,000.

Archeological sites in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan is home to many archaeological monuments of historical importance, which are famous as important tourist places, the most notable of which are:

  • Cobustan Rock Park: This archaeological site is classified among the UNESCO World Heritage List, which is a plateau of rocks decorated with more than six thousand rock inscriptions that reflect arts and cultures for forty thousand years.
  • The Walled City of Baku: The capital, Baku, has been a settlement of human beings since the Stone Age, and is surrounded by defensive walls. Also, inside the walled city, there are archaeological buildings on the Zoroastrian, Arabic, Persian, Sassanid, Sherifani, Russian, and Ottoman architectural styles, in which the twelfth century dates back to the twelfth century. It is the oldest monument in Azerbaijan, and it is worth noting that the city, and what is in it, is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
  • Zan Sarai Building: As it dates back to the year one thousand seven hundred and sixty-two, it is a building decorated with murals, decorated with stained glass, and inside the building is a room filled with sophisticated designs, and pictures of heroic scenes from the battle of (Haci Ç’sl’sbi’s).

Natural places in Azerbaijan

The natural places in Azerbaijan vary between mountains, plains, and picturesque natural places, the most famous of which are:

  • Absheron National Park: Spread over a distance of 8.0937 km2, the park is an extension of arid plains full of sand dunes, and it contains more than fifty species of animals, some of which are considered endangered.
  • Caspian sea: The Caspian Sea is the largest lake in the world, as its beach extends for a distance of five hundred kilometers, and the beautiful resorts are also distributed in the region.
  • Ag Gul National Park: It is a low-lying park with Lake (Ag Gul Thani) which is the largest lake in Azerbaijan, and which also receives many migratory birds on its banks, and hosts many types of fish in its waters.
  • Lake Goygol: And it is called (Blue Lake), which is an important attraction in Azerbaijan, knowing that it lies at a height of one thousand five hundred meters above the slopes of Morovdag.
