Switzerland includes many wonderful museums, and the following are mentioned for their most important:

  • Bern Art Museum (in German: Kunstmuseum Bern): It is located in Bern, and is considered to be the first museum of fine art in Switzerland, and includes inside it many art works by Swiss artists.

Gothic Cathedral

The Gothic Cathedral, or the Munster Cathedral (in German: Bern Münster) is located in the city of Bern, and it represents one of the most prominent historical monuments in the city, where its history dates back to the fifteenth century AD, and is considered the longest church in Switzerland, with a height of approximately 100 m.

St. Gallen Abbey Library

The St. Gallen Abbey Library (English: St Gallen’s abbey library) is a historical archaeological library built by St. Gallen in 612 AD, and thus represents one of the oldest libraries in the world, and includes within it many books, and rare manuscripts dating back to the Middle Ages. It is worth noting that the library was recently included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Paul Klee Museum

One of the most beautiful museums in Switzerland is the Zentrum Paul Klee Museum (in German: Zentrum Paul Klee), designed by renowned architect Renzo Piano. It has appeared in waves that span the length of 150 meters. It displays many collections and wonderful works by the famous Swiss painter Paul Total.

Bern’s Old Town

The city of Bern includes at its center the old town (in German: Berner Altstadt), which dates back to the Middle Ages, where these buildings permeate many narrow passages, shops, clock tower, and other historical monuments.
