Kawah Putih Volcanic Lake is located at the top of the dormant volcano for 1,600 years, 47 km south of Bandung near tea plantations in a charming tourist area of Indonesia’s tourist areas.
Kawah Putih Lake is 2,430 meters above sea level so temperatures here often are around 10 degrees Celsius. The sulfur lake changes its color from blue to green, white or brown depending on the sulfur concentration, temperature, or oxidation state.
This large volcanic crater of turquoise will catch your breath at first sight of this magnificent scene, as it is distinguished by its white sandy beach, but it is full of rocks, small pebbles and limestone slopes that form with erosion and air in the place.
The easiest and best way to get to the lake is on foot, it will give you the opportunity to explore the place and enjoy the fresh, fresh air there. The only downside of this path is that your shoes will be covered with mud so you should take this into account. Also, do not touch the water because its high pH level will cause you major problems.
