Olhao Garden, or Portuguese Garden as it was called, was built in 1992 AD near Kennedy Street in Agadir.
The park is characterized by the style of Portuguese architecture that colonized the country in the Middle Ages, and is currently considered one of the most famous tourist attractions in Morocco
The park is named after Olhao, which is considered one of the southern coastal cities of Portugal, which the people of the country consider twins of the southern coastal city of Agadir.
Besides the unique botanical nature, the garden includes a library and museum, as well as a photo gallery that tells the story of the city’s history.
The park is considered the sanctuary of the people of the city, located near the Talborget neighborhood, and it is the only one in Agadir that includes small white houses symbol of the country.
Activities you can do
• You and your family can wander inside the park, which includes a picturesque nature, some stone sculptures, and a medieval cannon during the Portuguese colonial period.
• You can also enjoy spending some time on a nice family picnic in the green garden spaces, or on its stone-shaded benches.
• The garden includes some old stone buildings, footpaths, and an attractive building made of palm fronds, where you can take some memorial photos.
• Do not forget to pass through the memory exhibition that includes pictures of the city before the 1960 earthquake, and pictures of the current city and some of the buildings that survived the earthquake.
• You can also visit the garden library and other facilities, and end your tour in the restaurant that offers all kinds of local meals and some Portuguese food.
