Stockholm is one of the most important cities in the Kingdom, and the largest in terms of population. Stockholm is home to the seat of government and parliament, in addition to the residence of the Swedish monarch Karl Gustav; which increased its political importance, and tracked administratively to Stockholm County from the main provinces of the country.

It is noteworthy that the designation of the city was mentioned in 1252 AD in two letters written in the Latin language, where the first was written during the month of July of that year by King Valdemar and Perrier Yarl, and the second in August to urge the peasants to pay the tithe tax, and both letters were written in The city itself is Stockholm.

The name is divided into two syllables: Stokker and referred to by the record, and the second holme, meaning the island, in fact its name is very complex in terms of interpretation.

Stockholm occupies a space extending 188 km2 near the eastern coasts of Sweden and overlooking the Baltic Sea, and rises above the sea level by about 278 meters, and the area in which the city is located is characterized by congestion of islands in it, where it enters within its borders more than fourteen islands at least, and the humid continental climate prevails And the surrounding in the city; where its summer is mild and mild, and its winters are cold, and the city records a snowy and rainy period between December and March.
