Kuwait Towers

The Kuwait Towers is one of the most prominent tourist and cultural landmarks in the State of Kuwait located in the southwest of the continent of Asia, which is three elevated towers located on the shore of the Arabian Gulf in the eastern region of Kuwait City, the Kuwaiti capital, and the idea of ​​establishing these towers belongs to Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.

  • The main tower: It is the tallest tower, and its height reaches 187 meters from the surface of the earth, and its diameter is twenty meters.
  • Middle tower: It is a huge reservoir dedicated to storing water, with a height of 147 meters above the ground, and a diameter of eighteen meters.
  • Smallest tower: It is a lighting and control tower for the electricity of the surrounding area, and its height is 113 meters from the surface of the earth, and its diameter is twelve meters, and this tower carries a hundred scouts installed on it to illuminate the middle and larger towers.

The history of the Kuwait Towers building

The idea of ​​creating these towers appeared in the year 1963 AD, and the idea of ​​designing them again came back into existence in 1968 AD, to begin the actual process of building and construction by the Energy Company Yugoslavia in 1975 AD, and these towers officially opened after four years of construction on the first date of the month March of the year 1979 AD, and during the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in 1990 AD, these towers were exposed to monuments and extensive damage, to be reopened again in December of 1992 AD after several operations of repair and restoration that lasted for two years.

Kuwait Towers design

These towers were designed by the Swedish Lindstorm office, and they take the form of columns in the middle of which contain balls that take the color of blue in harmony with the sea color and the color of the sky. These balls are covered in Chinese dishes made of iron coated with eight bright colors. 82 meters, and the second is called the spot ball. It consists of two parts, the first of which is fixed at a height of 120 meters, the second is moving at a height of 123 meters, the middle tower contains one ball, and the smaller tower never contains balls.

The first ball of the main tower contains restaurants and cafes overlooking the Arabian Gulf, in addition to the halls equipped for holding concerts and sessions, while the moving part of the second ball does a full session twice every hour, and it contains a telescope to see the sights surrounding the towers, as well as some shops Others for gift-giving, beverage preparation, and some fast food. These balls are boarded by high-speed elevators from the ground floor.
