Effat Private University is located in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in Jeddah, specifically on Qasr Khuzam Street on the old Makkah Road. It is the first non-profit women’s private national university in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and it operates under the umbrella of the King Faisal Foundation.

Effat civil society history and heritage

Effat University was established in 1999, based on the ideas of Princess Effat Al-Thunayan, wife of His Majesty King Faisal bin Abdulaziz, and the university’s founders council consisted of the sons and daughters of Queen Effat, and a number of local and international experts and specialists. Effat Al Ahlia University contains the following colleges and departments:

• College of Engineering: It includes the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, the Department of Information Systems, the Department of Computer, the Department of Architecture, and the Department of Visual and Digital Production.
• College of Humanities and Social Sciences: It includes the Department of English and Translation, and the Department of Psychology.
• Business school: It includes the Finance division, the Operations and Information Management division, the Human Resources Management section, the Entrepreneurship section and the Marketing department.
