Musa Palace

Musa Palace is one of the distinguished Lebanese museums in terms of the story of its construction and its content. This palace or museum is located in the city of Beiteddine, located in the Chouf District in the Republic of Lebanon. It was built manually by one person to fulfill his childhood dream, then it became one of the most important historical, touristic and famous landmarks in Lebanon. The rooms of this palace contain stories of people from Lebanon who lived during the period between the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

History of the palace

Musa Palace was built during the period between (1945-1997 AD), and it was built in fulfillment of the dream of a child named Musa who destroyed his dream of a teacher when he was young, and when this child grew up he built his desired palace stone by stone without anyone helping him in the construction, and when he finished building Divide the palace rooms, as some of the rooms included the history of Lebanese heritage through some embodiments that represent the lives of Lebanese people, in addition to some old weapons that were in the Ottoman era and the French mandate over Lebanon, where the collection of these weapons is one of the largest groups in the Middle East, which consists of ( 16) A thousand pieces of old weapon.

The story of building the palace

Musa’s Palace carries with it a beautiful story about will and determination that has accompanied a young child named “Musa Al-Maamari” since childhood until his dream of building this beautiful and unique palace in the Shouf region came true. The story talks about Musa who could not draw his little pet with braids that he sees every day She plays with her ivory brides and wishes that he would play with him the game of “the bride and bride”. Indeed, he used to draw a palace for each stone of a certain color, as he wanted to escape from their mud room where he lived with his family, sheep and other animals to his beautiful palace, which he dreamed of.
The teacher saw his little student, who was spending his time drawing on paper instead of learning, so the teacher caught the attention and the teacher came and stood next to his student watching for a long time and Moses did not feel the presence of the teacher over his head because of his busy drawing, although the teacher was waving his stick in front of Moses and he did not care To him, and the teacher was hitting him from time to time on his knee to pay attention to him, but Moses continued to draw his palace despite the wrath of his teacher for what he was doing. He ordered him to stand and hit him hard on the head and said His teacher: “You are expelled from the school back to your father and the son of his palace like this palace, which you draw.”
Moses was greatly affected by what the teacher did, so he picked up the torn paper as he cried with burning, so he took the paper and put it in his pocket and left the school and did not return until when he built the palace he dreamed of, and when Moses returned to his home (the clay room) while he was crying, he collected the pieces of the paper to be glued, then put it in A box remained with him for about a quarter of a century until his dream came true and he built his desired palace, which became a famous heritage, and at the forefront of the palace is the torn paper on which the palace was drawn when he was young.
