Masirah Island

Masirah Island is located just off the coast of Oman, and is a unique destination for travelers looking for wildlife and history. Masirah Island is home to an Omani air base, the towns there are relatively small. This means a few crowds and a lot of lonely areas to explore. Regular ferries are available to connect you to and from the mainland to enjoy the fresh winter air and take many memorial photos.

Bahla

Another amazing destination in Oman is the city of Bahla, located in the north of Amman. Bahla is an oasis in the desert, and has served as a stopping point for travelers for centuries. Located only 40 km (25 mi) from Nizwa, Bahla Fort dates back to the 13th century, when it was under the control of the Banu Nabhan tribe.
In addition to exploring Bahla Fort, you can see the city walls, which are made of mud brick and span almost seven miles. Bahla is also widely known for its exquisite local pottery.

Salalah

In southern Oman is Salalah, a destination sometimes known as the second capital after Muscat. Salalah is of particular importance because it is the ancestral home of Sultan Qaboos, the Sultan who has been ruling Oman for the year 1970. On a visit to Salalah, you can enjoy the amazing Qaboos Palace, and you can appreciate the ancient architecture there.
Salalah is famous for its frankincense trade and lots of great products, so be sure to choose some souvenirs from the market at Al Haffah. From June to August, monsoon clouds from India bring continuous rain to the area, and as a result, the coastal area surrounding Salalah turns into a green oasis with waterfalls and seasonal currents and this is the best time to visit.

Al-Abrain Refinery

While the major cities in Amman can appear to be very contemporary, smaller villages such as the Al-Abreen Refinery help create a more traditional and popular atmosphere. This mountain village consists of stone buildings painted in orange and brown colors, Al-Abrain Refinery is a beautiful example of mountain life in Amman, and you can walk between buildings during your winter vacation there to enjoy the trees and green areas covered with snow.
There is an ancient watchtower above the village that you can climb to see the Al-Aabrain refinery as well as the surrounding fields and dams filled with frozen water.
