National Geographic, the leader in travel and tourism, recently published an article revealing the best beaches in the Middle East.
The list included 3 Gulf destinations: Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates and Salalah in the Sultanate of Oman.

Kite Beach, Dubai, United Arab Emirates
For those looking for a more urban beach experience, Kite Beach is a great destination for families, with a large number of water sports available, including windsurfing, windsurfing and canoeing. The beach also offers seaside activities, including volleyball nets, a jogging and cycling track, a children’s ski park, and a number of food trucks and cafes.
Saadiyat, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
Despite its attractive resorts, Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi is also a haven for wildlife: it includes sand dunes and is an area that embraces the marine turtle and endangered falcons’ sanctuary. Steam boats off the island’s coast are also prohibited, and 200 feet from the dunes, where the nests of the weapon are located. Pedestrians can reach the beach via a wooden ramp to avoid disturbing the vegetation. Aside from turtles, dolphins can often be spotted off the coast.
Salalah, Sultanate of Oman
In stark contrast to the desert landscapes of the Arabian Peninsula, the hills of Salalah in southern Oman turn into luscious green under the monsoon rains, or the so-called autumn of Salalah, from July to September. Whatever the time of the year, the temperatures are moderate and the beaches are crowded.
