Parc de la Ciutadella is located on the northern edge of the old district of Barcelona and was built in the mid-19th century.
For decades, it was the only green space that is considered the sanctuary of the people of the city, and its area is 280,000 square meters.
The park is one of the important tourist attractions in Spain, and includes the city zoo, the Palace of Parliament of Catalonia, a small lake, some museums, and a large fountain.

You can also visit the zoo that opened in 1892 AD inside the park, which includes a unique collection of European animals.
Don’t forget to visit the park’s Natural Science Museum, which has been devoted to animal science and geology, and one of its most important exhibits is the skeleton.
You can also visit the Palace of the Catalan Parliament, which dates back to the 18th century. It consists of two floors and its area is 5,532 square meters.

The zoo for adults is 19.9 euros, and for children 11.95 euros.
The museum is 3,5 euros per person.
The Parliament Palace offers guided tours for 20 euros per person.
Worktime
Throughout the year, the closing time for the zoo and museum is 8 pm, while Parliament Palace guided tours are only on Saturdays from 10 am to 7 pm.
