The Museum of Islamic Art is located on an artificial island, opposite the Corniche of Doha, in a vast park bearing its name.
The museum, with its surrounding attractions in the park that it hosts, is one of the most important tourist places in Qatar, which highlights the country’s history.
The museum is also distinguished by its proximity to the Qatar port for traditional sailboats, and is the first of its kind to display 14 centuries of Islamic history.
Ancient Islamic architecture is evident in the building of the external museum, and its unique design includes distinctive geometric patterns of modern architecture.
The museum occupies a total area of 45,000 square meters, and began receiving visitors to it at the end of 2008 AD, and is connected to the park via two paved bridges.

• You must first enjoy the museum’s interior designs that clearly show Islamic architecture, and that blend harmoniously with modern architecture.
• Then start your tour of the Islamic Museum hall, which includes artifacts and ceramics, dating back to more than 1,200 years of Islamic times.
• The museum also includes an exhibition of old Islamic textiles worthy of your camera lens, which includes many wonderful pieces of fabrics such as carpets, clothes, and others.
• Do not forget to pass through the Hall of Mineral Archeology, which includes several sculptures and Islamic antique pots, along with some weapons such as swords and amazing daggers.
You can also visit the exhibition of religious manuscripts dating back to the period between the 7th century AD and the Ottoman era, as well as scientific and literary manuscripts.
You must take many photos of the attractive blue ornate mausoleum, dating back to the second half of the 14th century CE.
