The University of Al-Karaouine is considered the oldest Arab university in the world according to the report of UNESCO, and it is also the first university to establish specialized scientific chairs and grant degrees at the world level. The university is located in the city of Fez in the Arab Maghreb, the university was founded in 859 AD.

And the huge library, and the area of ​​the university at the present time is about 5845 square meters, and the university also includes a group of scientific chairs with a specialization, which made the university a multiplicity of studies.

The university did not have a monopoly on science over a specific group and a specific region, as it included students from all over the Arab and western world, and among the most important figures who studied at the university: Ibn Khaldoun, Ibn Al-Khatib, Ibn Harazam, Ibn Bajah, who was known to be a master in several sciences, including the Arabic language Medicine, the philosopher Ibn Maymun, and Hassan Ibn Al-Wazzan, known as a billion African, are among the most important personalities that have studied and graduated from the university: the student Gerbert Uriak, who came from Europe, the Maliki jurist Abu Imran Al-Fassi, Ibn Al-Bana Al-Marrakchi, and Ibn Al-Arabi.
