Sibiu is a city in Transylvania, Romenia, with a population of 137,026.
Sibiu is located about 282 km northwest of Bucharest, extending the city to the divorce river, one of the tributaries of the Qalt river.
At the present time the city of the city is the capital of the Sibiu region, between Sibiu in 1692 and 1791 and 1849-1865 CE, and it was the capital of the “Emirate of Transylvania”.
Sibiu is one of the most important cultural centers in Romenia, and along with the city of Luxembourg, it was designated as the “European Capital of Culture” for the year 2007 AD.
