Ohrid sits on the bank of a stunning lake bearing the same name as the city, and is characterized by ancient mud houses and ancient church towers, and is considered one of the most important tourist resorts in Macedonia, as it enjoys picturesque beaches on the glistening blue lake.

The city contains a group of beautiful forests that represent a wonderful haven for nature lovers, in addition to being a vibrant city through markets, cafes and bars that are filled with lovers of evening and music.
Lake Ohrid is one of the deepest lakes in the world, separating Macedonia and Albania, and entered the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1979.
Visitors to this city enjoy a walk on the long shore of the lake that leads to the famous fishing village of Kanyu or to reach the ancient church of Saint Jovan.

There are restaurants and small bars on the rocky outcrop opposite the lake and enjoy a stunning view. Visitors to these restaurants can also enjoy the taste of traditional seafood while sitting in the lake waters.
The city is famous for the presence of 365 churches where the ancient residents used to visit a church every day, and the old city enjoys narrow stone streets and old houses that still maintain its distinctive architecture, along with the old theater and the ancient castle.

In addition to the Saint Sophia Cathedral, which was built during the rule of the Bulgarian Empire and turned into a mosque during the reign of the Ottomans, who built a minaret on top of the church from above.
An annual festival is held in the city in late July, and is considered one of the largest cultural festivals in Macedonia.
The festival features classic concerts that take place on the city’s old theater, jazz and blues parties that take place in the town’s cafes and bars, as well as dances that roam the city’s streets.
