Doha Corniche is a seafront promenade that stretches for several kilometers along the bay of Doha, the capital of the State of Qatar.
The walkway runs parallel to Corniche Street, which is the main street linking the West Bay commercial area with the south of the city and its international airport.
The Corniche was a landmark-free passage until the 21st century, as a development process began targeting the region to promote tourism in Qatar.
After the only apparent edifice was the Sheraton Hotel in the area, it is now teeming with several skyscrapers on the northern side.
The Asian Games, hosted by the country in 2006, helped promote the idea of developing the Doha Corniche as it is today.
The Corniche includes several picturesque attractions in the city of Doha, such as the Museum of Islamic Art and Rumaila Park.
