The Alexandria National Museum is one of the most important museums of Alexandria, Egypt. The museum contains more than 1,800 artifacts representing most of the ages that passed through the city that was founded in the year 332 BC.
It is located on Liberty Road, and the museum building is a former palace of one of the wealthy timber merchants in the city and is the happiest Basile who built it in the style of the italyn architecture, and it is considered one of the most famous places of tourism in Alexandria
The palace was sold in 1954 to the American embassy for 53,000 Egyptian pounds, and the Supreme Council of Egyptian Antiquities bought it for 12 million pounds, which in turn turned it into a national museum for the city of Alexandria, which the Egyptian president opened on September 1, 2003.
