Mimara Museum is the mother of art museums in the Croatian city of Zagreb, containing between its walls more than 3000 pieces of art distributed among statues, memorials, paintings, handicrafts and more, which are a living embodiment of the artistic and cultural heritage in Croatia.
The museum is located in Roosevelt Square and contains more than 1500 galleries and exhibition halls, some of which are temporary and permanent, and contain some exhibits dating back more than two centuries.
The museum was opened at the end of the last century, but the main building is very old as it dates back to the 19th century before it was converted into Mimara Museum, one of the tourist attractions in Croatia.
