Negros island is an island in the Philippines located in Visayas, and is the third largest island in the country. Its land area is about 13,328.4 square kilometers (5,146.1 sq mi). The islanders are called Negrenses, which is the Philippine island that means blacks in Spanish.

Electricity is harvested from volcanic activity in Negros through two geothermal plants on the island, one located in Palinpinon, Negros Oriental, and the other, opened in 2007, in Mailum, Negros Occidental.

Negros produces a lot of sugar in the Philippines, and it is one of the richest and most influential policies in the country’s regions. Rice, coconuts, bananas, papaya, and mangoes are the secondary crops raised about Negros, and corn is the main food crop. Wood has been extracted and treated is important. Mineral deposits include copper, mined in Sipolay, gypsum, coal, and rock phosphate. Salt is produced in the east.
