Great Mosque of Tlemcen
The word Tlemcen means “the town of cherries”, and it is one of the amazing Algerian cities in which the Great Mosque is one of its most prominent landmarks. It dates back to about the year 1082 AD, and was built for the first time by the Sultan Yusuf bin Tashfin, and it was rebuilt after about 100 years during the rule of his son Ali bin Yusuf, and the minaret and the dome were finally added to it in the thirteenth century, to become the mosque as it appears today.
The shrine of the martyr
