Daphne of Thor

Laurel is an incision or cavity in the mountain that usually results from natural weathering and erosion in the mountain composition, and this cavity may be large, which allows a person to live or hide in it. This cavity in addition to the cave is called the cave, and both terms are mentioned in the Holy Quran.
Laurel ox takes its name from the name of the mountain in it and it is a ox mountain which is located in the Makkah region in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the west of the country with an altitude of seven hundred twenty-eight meters, and is located four kilometers from the Meccan sanctuary from its southern side.
It is a cavity in hard rocks one and a quarter meters high, and it has two entries in the form of two eastern and western holes.

Its historical position

A bull is one of the great historical symbols of Islamic civilization. It is the cave to which the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of God be upon him, and his companion Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq, may God be pleased with him, came when immigrants from Makkah came to Medina, after the infidels of Quraysh unanimously instructed them to kill him. He was sleeping in his house by a group of men from several tribes, in order for his blood to be lost in the tribes so that his family was unable to claim it, and thus eliminate the Islamic call.

The divine order came with immigration, so the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his companion, went out to the cave, so Quraish joined them to arrest them until they reached the cave and stood on it; He looked beneath his feet to see us, so the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, answered him, assuredly: What is wrong with two of them, the third of them, and stayed in the cave for three days before the march toward the enlightened city began. And he raid a bull that is the protector of Islam by protecting the noble Messenger and its companion, and from it the Apostle set out for the city, establishing a great state and remaining religion until the Hour of Resurrection.

Visit it

Thor is an historical and archaeological value like other monuments in history and does not exceed this matter. As for what some Muslims believe that it has holiness and must be visited when Makkah Al-Mukarramah arrives for the Hajj or Umrah, this is not valid and is one of the innovations in religion, as it is He did not want his visit to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, nor any of his companions. As for whoever wanted to visit him to watch as an archaeological teacher carrying the story of migration, there is nothing wrong with that.
